Email from Past Students! Wow!

I left my village in Cambodia about 5 months ago and two of my past students figured how to use email and found an Internet connection/PC to email me! It of course made me feel warm and fuzzy.

alway develop our school expecial the library. Now student very happy that our school has had the library, and now the student can seach and read every thing all these because of you. I wish you good luck, good health and suceed wery thing.

The grammar and spelling is all their own, and I guess a teacher was not around. But this past November, about 20 PCs were to *extra generously* donated by an Australian college to their high school. Last time the school abroad donated 2 PCs, they had trouble at Customs who were charging something mysteriously extra. But even then, the money they raised to deliver PCs that would otherwise be recycled is very kind of them. Somewhere in West Australia, I and all those kids thank these kind college students.

Maybe I’ll get more letters and see how my students do

Sometimes after service, volunteers wonder how the community truly felt about us. I really miss the community members I interacted with on a daily basis- maybe biking by and just waving, maybe shopping through the market stalls for baked goods/veggies and stopping to chat to all the ladies, visiting for a chat/tea with the teachers, working together to improve the community.
